Description

Status: Previously sold. This listing is preserved as a historical archive and reference only.

Item Overview

This archived listing documents an original Apple Power Macintosh 7100/80,
a first‑generation PowerPC desktop Macintosh from the mid‑1990s.
This unit was evaluated and sold as a vintage collectible suitable for restoration,
retro use, or historical reference.

  • Model: Power Macintosh 7100/80 (M2391)
  • Year: 1994
  • Processor: PowerPC 601 @ 80 MHz
  • Memory: 72 MB RAM
  • Storage: 700 MB Quantum SCSI hard drive
  • Serial Number: FC5100EP44H
  • Assembly: Assembled in USA

Condition at Time of Sale

At the time of evaluation, the system powered on successfully and booted into
Mac OS 8.1, which had been cleanly installed on the internal SCSI hard drive.

  • Booted successfully into Mac OS 8.1
  • CD‑ROM drive functioned and was used for OS installation; slightly noisy during operation
  • Floppy drive was not tested

The system included two installed NuBus expansion cards. One appeared to be a video card
installed toward the outer edge of the case and was the only card from which video output
was obtained. The system’s onboard video output could not be tested due to monitor compatibility.

Observed video output from the installed NuBus card was black and white only.
It was not determined whether this behavior was due to missing or incorrect drivers,
monitor limitations, or the capabilities of the installed video card.

The enclosure was in generally good condition for its age, showing typical wear such as
scratches, scuffs, light yellowing, and accumulated dust. The plastic was brittle,
consistent with a nearly 30‑year‑old Macintosh.
One original rubber foot was missing from the bottom of the case.

Additionally, a loose piece of plastic was found inside the enclosure during inspection.
Its original location was not definitively identified. The fragment was included with the system.

Included / Not Included

  • Included: Desktop unit, installed NuBus cards, loose internal plastic fragment
  • Not Included: Monitor, keyboard, mouse, power cable, Mac OS installation media

Archival & Collector Notes

This system was sold as‑is due to its age.
Early‑1990s Apple desktop plastics are known to be brittle and prone to breakage with handling,
even when properly packed. Local pickup was available to reduce the risk of additional transit damage.

This archived listing is maintained for long‑tail search visibility and may be useful
to collectors and researchers studying early PowerPC desktop configurations,
NuBus expansion usage, or display hardware behavior during the classic Mac OS era.

This archived listing is preserved for historical reference and collector research.
