Up for sale is an old HP LaserJet Series II parallel port laser printer. This is based on the famous Canon SX engine which was used in lots of different printers from the 1980’s / early 1990’s We used this printer for several years back in the 1990’s, but it has been sitting for the last 2 decades or so. So, it’s clean up time and we’re offering it on the internet in hopes that someone out there can refurbish it and put it use, or add it to their collection!

We connected this old printer to power and our old Windows XP machine and we were able to get it to print a self-test page and a test page from Windows XP sent over the parallel port. The paper would not feed on its own – we had to help it feed through the manual feed (on top of the tray). So, it likely needs a feed tire or maybe just a good cleaning? The print on the pages was very dirty, but seemed to get less dirty after running a page or two, but after a jam (due to the printer not feeding the paper correctly), the next page successfully printed was dirtier – perhaps a defective cleaning blade in the cartridge?

This printer is large, heavy, and a bit fragile (30+ year old plastic), so there is a $50 surcharge in the shipping to cover having the local UPS store professionally package it for shipment.
