Up for sale is a used Dell Dimension E521 Desktop PC in good used condition. The SSD has been wiped and a there is a clean install of Windows 10 Pro version 1909 on it – this originally came with Windows XP Home Edition on it – the product key for Windows XP Home is on a sticker on the top of the case. We upgraded to Windows 8 Pro during the promotion Microsoft had for upgrading to Windows 8 Pro for $15, then we upgraded again to Windows 10 Pro under the free upgrade period. It is really remarkable that a PC manufactured in 2007 can still run a current operating system – albeit rather slowly. We finally retired this one and replaced it with a newer, faster machine.
Some of the upgrades include:
- 120GB Kingston SSD
- 4GB RAM (4 x 1GB RAM Modules)
- NVidia discrete graphics card (we had to install this because the built in graphics did not work in Windows 10)
- Upgraded CD reader to a DVD burner.
There is no password for Windows – we recommend you change this. The case is in pretty good shape with minor scratches/scrapes mainly on the top – see pictures.
