Up for sale is an old SmartCard reader from the early 2000s – we connected it to our old Windows XP machine and it was detected by PnP and the driver installed automatically (with the computer connected to the internet). This has two plugs – one is an RS232 serial port for the data transfer and the other is a PS/2 port pass-through for powering the device. Manualslib on the interwebs has the original manual available and the last few pictures are screenshots from the manual. The manual says this supports Windows 98 SE, Window Me, Windows NT 4.0 SP6, Windows 2000 SP2, Windows XP Professional and it is able to read: Cryptographic cards, Java cards, Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs), and SchlumbergerSema e-gate cards. Since we don’t have any of these cards, we are unable to test the card-reading ability of this device and it is sold AS-IS for a collectible only!
