Up for sale is a used Royal Empress Typewriter. This was purchased as surplus property from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in the late 1990’s and was stored in an old van for 15+ years. It still has the ‘Property of Madison College’ sticker on the side as JMU was known back in the 1960’s and it also has one of those old label maker labels on the front for ‘Dept of Psychology’. It is a bit dirty and the keys do not return when depressed – so it likely needs at the very least some lubrication – most likely a professional repair job. The space bar is also a little bit wonky – SEE PICTURES! Please keep these things in mind when making your decision. This old typewriter is heavy (around 40# plus when properly packed), so if you would like to save on the shipping, local pickup at no charge is available.
