Up for sale is an Asus M5A97 R2.0 Socket AM3+ ATX Motherboard with an AMD Athlon II X2 640 CPU AND 16GB RAM (2 x 8GB Modules). This motherboard was put into service in February of 2013 and in November 2024 the system was upgraded to a newer, faster motherboard, processor, & RAM. So, we have this one left over. Hope someone out there on the internet can put it to use. This originally had Windows 8 Pro on it and had been upgraded to Windows 10 Pro during the free upgrade period, so you might be able to activate Windows 10 Pro on it without a product key, but NO WINDOWS 10 PRODUCT KEY is included – we are including the original Windows 8 Pro Product Key Code (on a sticker pulled from the case) as well as the unopened Windows 8 install DVD (we used a thumb drive to install it). Good luck!

This system was in good running condition, but the CPU cooling fan is getting a bit loud and the next owner will need to plan on replacing it sometime soon, we also can’t remember if or when we replaced the BIOS battery, so the next owner should expect to do that sometime soon!
