Up for sale is an Asus M5A78L-M LX PLUS Socket AM3+ uATX Motherboard with an AMD Athlon II X4 640 CPU AND 8GB RAM (2 x 4GB Modules). This motherboard was put into service in December of 2012 and in September 2025 the system was upgraded to a newer, faster motherboard, processor, & RAM. So, we have this one left over. Hope someone out there on the internet can put it to use. This originally had Windows 8 on it and had been upgraded to Windows 10 during the free upgrade period, so you might be able to activate Windows 10 on it without a product key, but NO WINDOWS 10 PRODUCT KEY is included – we are including the original Windows 8 OEM Product Key and install DVD. Please note that the onboard video (ATI Radeon HD 3000) does not have drivers for Windows 10, but we ran it anyway at basic settings, but you may want a Windows 10 compatible graphics card. Good luck!

This system was in good running condition, but the CPU cooling fan is getting a bit loud and the next owner will need to plan on replacing it sometime soon.

• 1 x AMD Athlon II X4 640 + w/ Heatsink and Fan – installed on the motherboard – the fan is getting a bit noisy and should be replaced soon
• 2 x Kingston HyperX Blu KHX1333C9D3B1K2/8G DDR3 1333 RAM 4GB Modules
• 1 x OCZ Agility 3 120GB SATA SSD – Securely erased – NO PARTITIONS – you will need to initialize, partition, and format it prior to use

• 1 x XIGMATEK USB 2 Multi-Card Reader (we installed this in the system and never really used it)
