Description

Please read the item description in its entirety and examine ALL OF the pictures BEFORE you make your decision to purchase this item.

Up for sale is an old Apple Power Macintosh 8500/120 from 1995. This old desktop Mac has a clean install of MacOS System 7.5.2 on its 1GB IBM SCSI hard drive. The date and time were incorrect which indicates that it needs a BIOS battery. The plastic on the case is in very brittle condition. One of the plastic clips which holds the front of the case onto the sides broke when the case was removed to photograph it – so, it will either have to be replaced, possibly glued, or maybe someone can 3D print a new one? Anyway, it is pushing 30 years old and the plastic is brittle. The broken plastic clips is included with the computer. You only get the desktop PC and the broken plastic piece – you will need to provide your own ADB keyboard and mouse, power cable, as well as a monitor. We were able to boot it from the CD-ROM with a MacOS Install Disc, low level format the hard drive, and do a clean install of MacOS 7.5.2. The install CD is NOT INCLUDED. We did not try to test the networking, but there are TCP/IP settings in the control panel – you might do better with a newer OS – Apple’s support site says it will run all the way up to OS 9. We also did not try to test the floppy drive – so this is an unknown for your to keep in mind when making your decision.
